This week, the Coconuts had another visit from Gabby from Art Farm! Gabby introduced the Coconuts to three different kinds of birds: Bonnie (the dove), Pumpkin (the parrot), and Clementine (the chicken). After Gabby taught the students all birds have feathers and claws, they were given an opportunity to pet and hold the birds! The Coconuts were excited and curious to meet the birds!

The Coconut Trees are THANKFUL for.... YOU! On Tuesday, November 21st, Gillen Brewer held their annual Thanksgiving Feast. In preparation for the feast, the students decorated place mats! In addition, the students worked together to create festive decorations for the classroom. On the day of the feast, the Coconut Trees were excited to welcome their special guests. The classroom was filled with joy, laughter, and delicious food! Over the past few months, the Coconut Trees have participated in a variety of outdoor movement activities. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the students spend time playing on the rooftop. During roof, the Coconut Trees enjoy drawing with chalk, building with blocks, climbing the climber, and playing basketball. On Friday afternoons, the class takes a trip to Asphalt Green Park! At the park, the students enjoy digging in the sand, soaring down the slide, swinging on the swings, and climbing to new heights on the jungle gym! The roof and park are always filled with laughter and excitement as the students participate in both group games (e.g., tag, chase, monster) and individual adventures! |
